A Story

I am going to make a request. The other day a friend of Shirley's wrote a funny story about Shirley from years ago. That was so awesome to read. I want everyone who reads this blog to do that. It doesn't have to be funny. Just something memorable from your past with Shirley.

One thing Shirley has said to me more than anything else in her lifetime that I have not heard in so long is "The most embarrassing thing happened to me today". And you can just always imagine what would come next. It was normally embarrassing.

I would love to hear things that people have experienced with Shirley that the rest of us might not know.

Thank you. Teresa

Mauria actually reminded me of this. When we were younger and playing softball, your Dad would yell, "c'mon, Buffy!!!"..

Okay a story....hmmm. Here is one not really on you Shirley, but more on myself. But the first time I ever went over to your house and I stayed for dinner, your mom had tacos. Boy they must have been really good, cause I made a big impression on your dad! And then from that time on my nickname was Taco. Yep I had a big appetite!

Shirley and for that matter Teresa and Kathy. It has been years, but we used to come out to your place almost every weekend during the summers with Vicki. We were all just spoiled brats then! Remembering the ROOK games........oh my, what competition we all had! Shirley, being an RN, I see folks put that competiveness into healing.

Those years of growing up together were just great times. Getting to know all of you was a great gift. I hate it that over the years we have grown out of touch. Busy lives, differing lifestyles ect have gotten us out of touch. Just know that Vicki gave me this website and I think it is just great. I can still hear Shirley's snickers and laughs when I was reading all the updates. You all keep strong for yourselves and Shirley. Positive outlook does seem to help as well God's healing hands. Take care girls, Debbie and Tom........
Thinking of you guys always!

If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call. I am not to "up" on cancer treatment, but I will try. Teresa, that HIPPA law allows for Shirley to put you on her list to disclose information. Have Shirley put you on it!

Shirley, I will never forget the time you told all of us in Chris's staff meeting how you got stuck in a sweatshirt in a department store. Your face turned red just telling the story!! I don't know if I've ever laughed that hard at work before! I always smile when I think of that story! Praying for you always!!!

I remeber coming out there by myself when I was little for a visit. When Grandma and Grandpa were at work Aunt Shirley, Aunt Teresa, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Tim would take me down to the pond to go swimming in. I thought I was so cool to be hanging out with you guys because you were all in high school or college. I remeber telling my mom on the phone every night that I wanted to grow up and be just like you guys. I love you all so much and I keep praying day and night for all of you.
love and miss you all
